Haegwang Law Firm, which has grown into a mid-sized law firm with about 40 lawyers in just two years since its establishment, is attracting attention. Haegwang has distinguished itself in various fields such as civil and criminal cases, fair trade, finance, and capital markets, and this year established offices in Daegu and Busan.

Haegwang is recognized for being composed of lawyers with diverse backgrounds and rich practical experience. The Seoul office is managed by seven representative lawyers, including Lawyer Lim Seong-geun (Judicial Research and Training Institute Class 17), a former chief judge of the High Court, and Lawyer Hwang Cheol-gyu (Class 19), former president of the International Association of Prosecutors and former chief prosecutors of Busan and Daegu High Prosecutors' Offices, along with other former judges and prosecutors.

Lawyer Kim Chan-don (Class 16), former chief judge of Daegu District Court and Daegu High Court, and Lawyer Kwon Seong-woo (Class 27), former chief judge of Daegu District Court, lead the Daegu office, while Lawyer Koo Nam-su (Class 18), former chief judge of Busan Family Court and Ulsan District Court, heads the Busan office.

Haegwang forms agile, customized teams suited to each case, placing the right lawyers in the right positions. Lawyer Hwang, who is competitive in international affairs and fair trade, and Lawyer Lee Wan-hee (Class 27), who has experience handling commercial disputes, fair trade, and tax trials, lead the Fair Trade Team. Lawyers Lee Dong-geun (Class 22), Choi Chang-young (Class 24), and Kim Hu-gyun (Class 28), who have extensive experience in investigations and trials related to violations of finance and capital market laws, manage the Finance and Capital Markets Team. Lawyers Lim Seong-geun, Seo Min-seok (Class 23), and Jung Yeon-taek (Class 30) are in charge of the Construction and Real Estate Team. However, the team composition is flexibly adjusted depending on the case.

Haegwang shows particular strength in criminal case investigations and trials, with representative lawyers personally overseeing close representation from initial consultation through investigation and trial, earning high praise. Based on their long-term direct experience in investigations and trials and final decision-making, the representative lawyers always keep in mind what prosecutors and judges are curious about, how to argue persuasively to prosecutors and judges, the preferred styles of argument by judges, and the argument styles judges find objectionable, thereby establishing litigation strategies accordingly.

In practice, professional and proactive responses are required from the early stages of investigation through trial in cases such as embezzlement and breach of trust investigations involving companies and businesspeople, investigations related to finance and capital markets, and responses to the Serious Accident Punishment Act. Haegwang provides close legal services by deploying lawyers with expertise in criminal cases who are former judges and prosecutors.

Additionally, Haegwang expanded its expertise into corporate advisory services last year. Lawyer Kim Byung-min (Bar Exam 3rd), who specialized in financial work at various financial institutions including asset management companies, and Lawyer Yoo Young-chun (Class 36), who has been active in corporate management advisory and accounting cases, were recruited as members to achieve results in the advisory field.

Moreover, collaboration between the Seoul office and the Daegu and Busan offices is active, allowing clients in the provinces to receive legal services from Seoul office lawyers.

Representative Lawyer Choi Chang-young emphasized, "Since the firm's establishment, we have recruited representative lawyers and members with diverse backgrounds. The firm’s growth is the result of their dedicated efforts based on teamwork. Haegwang’s strength lies in its agility optimized for professional responses grounded in abundant practical experience and capability."
