# Mr. Kim (39 years old) lived in an aging apartment complex that was over 30 years old before moving to a new apartment two years ago. He said, "After experiencing various problems living in the old apartment, I finally decided to move due to difficulties with my child's education." He added, "Right after moving to the new apartment, I liked the advantage of being able to use various community facilities, and now, above all, I really appreciate the apartment's community facilities for children."
Recently, community facilities such as gyms, table tennis rooms, and screen golf facilities within apartment complexes have increasingly become a standard for evaluating the value of those complexes. In particular, to attract parents raising young children, there is a growing trend of introducing kid-focused designs featuring kids cafes and moms' lounges.
As demand has increased, apartments designed as all-care education-specialized complexes that consider childcare services and education for children are drawing attention. Dongmoon Construction’s ‘Wonju Dongmoon The East’ is gaining attention for being developed as an all-care education-specialized complex, with educational childcare services available within the complex attracting buyers’ interest.
‘Wonju Dongmoon The East’ offers trendy childcare services free of charge for two years within the community. It plans to host the highly popular ‘Jjaegakak-eo Kids Center’ for moms, operating it free for two years after move-in. Once the Jjaegakak-eo Kids Center opens within the community, it will provide an indoor playground where children can run and play, along with various kids classes offering multiple play and learning contents. Especially, while children use the Jjaegakak-eo facilities, guardians can use internal community services or go out after leaving their children, which is expected to increase resident satisfaction.
In addition to Jjaegakak-eo, ‘Wonju Dongmoon The East’ plans to attract Daechi Nuri Education to its commercial facilities within the complex to provide access to excellent educational environments from Seoul’s Gangnam area. It will offer a variety of curricula for children aged 6 (before entering elementary school) through middle school students. Furthermore, to reduce residents’ private education expenses and improve education quality, it plans to support 50% of tuition fees for one child per household for two years after move-in.
For the health of children and families, the ‘Hucares’ visiting exercise service will also be operated free of charge within the complex for two years. It will be customized for residents and conducted as kids and senior programs, with a total of eight sessions held annually, four times each. Expected programs include toddler growth ballet, kids growth ballet, senior line dance, and senior medical ballet stretching. Detailed program plans can be freely discussed and modified by residents later.
‘Wonju Dongmoon The East,’ developed by Dongmoon Construction in Gwanseol-dong, Wonju-si, Gangwon-do, consists of 11 buildings ranging from two basement floors to 15 aboveground floors, with a total of 873 households and exclusive areas of 80, 84, and 115 square meters. The breakdown by exclusive area is △80㎡ 144 households △84㎡ 642 households △115㎡ 87 households.
The location is also advantageous. It is close to both Wonju downtown and Wonju Innovation City, offering a double living zone that enjoys the living infrastructure of both areas.
The complex provides convenient access to infrastructure located in Wonju downtown such as Hanaro Mart, Homeplus, Wonju Premium Outlets, and Wonju Medical Center, as well as facilities in Innovation City including the planned Emart Traders, Saint Hospital, and Megabox. Additionally, the Wonjucheon walking trail is right in front of the complex, and parks such as Beodeulmani Park, Sambo Park, and Dumul Waterfront Park in Wonju Innovation City are nearby.
Transportation conditions are excellent. Located near the Jungang Expressway and National Road No. 19, it has an outstanding wide-area transportation network. Through the Jungang Line double-track railway from Wonju to Jecheon, opened in 2021, it takes about an hour to reach Seoul Cheongnyangni Station. Furthermore, the double-track railway from Yeoju to Wonju (scheduled for 2027) is planned to open at Wonju Station.
Moreover, the Gwanseol Hi-Pass IC installation project (scheduled for 2025), which connects to the Jungang Expressway, is progressing rapidly, and once opened, it is expected to improve highway accessibility for the eastern Wonju areas such as Bangok and Gwanseol-dong.
‘Wonju Dongmoon The East’ features a south-facing layout favorable for lighting and ventilation, mainly 4BAY slab-type designs (except for some units), and increased space utilization with pantries and dressing rooms. Some units offer views of Wonjucheon, Chiaksan, and Baegunsan.
The exterior of the complex will be developed as a park-style complex with various themed landscaping such as walking trails and playgrounds. Additionally, community facilities such as a fitness center, golf practice range, coin laundry, and a small library are planned.
To reduce buyers’ financial burdens, Dongmoon Construction offers a fixed first deposit of 10 million KRW, 5% interest support on the deposit, and interest-free benefits on interim payments for ‘Wonju Dongmoon The East.’
