Busan Gijang-gun is actively promoting the establishment of runoff reduction measures to prevent flood damage caused by rainfall.
The runoff reduction plan is a plan established every five years in accordance with the "Natural Disaster Countermeasures Act." It involves a comprehensive review of infiltration, storage, or drainage facilities for rainwater within the jurisdiction, aiming to minimize damage caused by runoff.
On June 30, County Governor Jeong Jong-bok participated in an on-site survey at Junggwan Park in Junggwan-eup to establish reduction measures and instructed the expansion of runoff reduction facilities and the preparation of active measures to prevent various disasters within the county.
In the basic survey, the county discovered the possibility of flood damage in the central commercial area over the next 10 years and is considering the installation of a 37,500㎥ storage facility to prevent damage.
In particular, to solve the severe parking problem in Junggwan New Town, they are planning to develop a complex facility consisting of a park on the ground, parking lots on the first and second basement floors, and a storage facility on the third basement floor.
County Governor Jeong Jong-bok emphasized, "With abnormal climate conditions expected to bring heavy rain every year, carry out the task thoroughly to promptly establish runoff reduction measures suitable for our county," and added, "Ensure that the installation of parking lots to solve the parking shortage in Junggwan-eup proceeds without delay."
