'Young Dobong’s New Journey with Residents... Dobong District’s 50th Anniversary Ceremony Held Successfully
Dobong District (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) held the ‘Dobong District 50th Anniversary Ceremony’ on July 1 at the Hananuri Hall of Duksung Women’s University, celebrating the 50 years of history created together with the residents of Dobong.
About 3,000 people, including Mayor Oh Eon-seok, local members of the National Assembly, city and district council members, and residents, attended the ceremony to look back on Dobong’s past 50 years and welcome the new 100 years ahead.
Before the main event, the ceremony opened with performances by the district’s public art troupe and a hologram performance. The first part of the main event featured the screening of the Dobong District 50th anniversary commemorative video, the mayor’s commemorative speech, greetings from guests, awards for outstanding residents, and the appointment of special ambassadors.
At the end of the first part, Dobong District’s representative characters ‘Eunbongi’ and ‘Hakbongi’ and the brand song ‘Meet You in Dobong’ were unveiled, with singer Kim Kyung-ho performing the brand song live, heating up the venue.
The second part was filled with congratulatory performances by local Dobong artists including the Underdog Band, singer Kim Da-hyun, and Song Ga-in, offering meaningful inspiration to those attending the ceremony.
In his commemorative speech, Mayor Oh Eon-seok said, “Today marks the first anniversary of the 8th elected term and the 50th anniversary of Dobong District with its residents. This year is also the inaugural year to reflect on the past 50 years and prepare for the next 100 years. I sincerely thank all Dobong residents who have given unwavering support and encouragement over the past 50 years, and I will continue to walk step by step with the residents, believing that the answer is always found on the ground.”
