KT Launches 5G Direct Plan... Including Bundle Discount Benefits

KT announced on the 3rd that it has newly launched a Direct Plan that allows customers to use 5G services at a reasonable price.

The newly introduced Direct Plan is about 30% cheaper compared to KT’s regular plans with the same data capacity and offers various bundle discounts. It is expected to enhance customer satisfaction in terms of cost-effectiveness. The detailed plans include five types: ▲5G Direct 69 (unlimited, 69,000 KRW/month) ▲5G Direct 61 (unlimited, 61,000 KRW/month) ▲5G Direct 49 (120GB, 49,000 KRW/month) ▲5G Direct 46 (80GB, 46,000 KRW/month) ▲5G Direct 34 (8GB, 34,000 KRW/month).

Along with the launch of the new plans, the data allowance for the existing ‘5G Direct 37 (11GB, 37,000 KRW/month)’ has been increased from 10GB to 11GB, and the shared data allowances for ‘5G Direct 44 (30GB, 44,000 KRW/month)’ and ‘5G Direct 55 (200GB, 55,000 KRW/month)’ have been enhanced from 10GB to 30GB and 40GB respectively. Benefits such as bundle discounts are also applied equally to the new plans.

The Direct Plans are no-contract plans available for new customers and those whose contracts have ended, and can be subscribed to online. Applications can be made through the KT Shop and KT Direct Shop on the KT website.

KT’s ‘5G Direct’ plans offer reasonable prices and various benefits tailored to the characteristics of direct products, including bundle discounts, an expanded lineup matching communication usage patterns, discounts on online video services (OTT) and devices, and double data for customers aged 29 and under (‘Ydeom’).

The ‘5G Direct’ plans provide all KT bundle discount benefits such as ‘Total Amount Bundle Discount’ and ‘Our Family Wireless Bundle.’ For example, customers using KT Internet Basic who subscribe to the Direct 69 plan can receive a minimum monthly bundle discount of 5,500 KRW.

Direct-exclusive benefits are also enhanced. In line with the increasing use of smart devices, smart device fee discounts are provided for up to two lines. Additionally, as a promotion to celebrate the launch of the new plans, benefits for OTT, devices, music, and reading content are offered for up to 24 months. Among domestic telecom companies’ direct plans, ‘5G Direct 69’ is the only one to provide three content benefits simultaneously.

KT also applies the exclusive ‘Ydeom’ benefits, revised last June for customers aged 29 and under, to the Direct plans. ‘Ydeom’ includes a basic benefit of double data provision, along with additional benefits such as up to 50% discount on TVING (promotion) and one month free of Google One 100GB (promotion).

To coincide with the launch of the 5G Direct plans, KT is holding a customer event from today until the 17th. Customers who purchase a smartphone device and subscribe to a Direct plan at KT Shop can receive a 5,000 KRW GS Convenience Store gift card (for 500 people) by submitting a subscription review. By entering the prize draw, customers have a chance to win a 3 million KRW travel voucher (1 person), GoPro Hero 11 (3 people), travel compression pouches (50 people), or Shinsegae gift certificates worth 30,000 KRW (100 people). Additionally, customers who purchase a phone with a Direct plan at KT Shop and install internet and TV services will receive a 24K gold spoon weighing 3.75g (15 people) as a gift.
