Continuous Support Maintained for 6 Years Since 2018
International relief and development NGO Plan Korea and Ilseong Construction have completed the first Blue Dream Jaramteo support project of 2023, which involved improving the environment of a local children's center.
This environmental improvement project focused on enhancing the study and living spaces of a local children's center located in Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do.
The local children's center involved in this project originally had wallpaper inside the study room that was yellowed and peeling, stained with graffiti, and the door handle had a hole that was temporarily blocked with sponge, but residue continued to leak out.
Additionally, the lockers and shoe racks were severely worn out, and the doors and hinge screws were worn down, causing inconvenience for the children using them. Although the center had been continuously repairing these issues on its own, the repairs quickly deteriorated and failed to function properly, making it difficult to manage personal belongings, so replacement was necessary.
In response, Plan Korea and Ilseong Construction supported the environmental improvement to enable children to use the facility in a cleaner and safer environment.
They carried out wallpapering inside the study room, installed flooring in the center's hallway, and replaced the storage with individual lockers, shoe racks, and wardrobes that increased storage capacity, creating a neat study and living environment.
On June 29, nine employees of Ilseong Construction visited the local children's center in person to check the changes and concluded the first support project by volunteering in organizing and cleaning activities.
A representative from Plan Korea stated, “We are grateful to Ilseong Construction for their generous support and continuous volunteer work over many years, helping children spend difficult seasons healthily in a safe environment.”
An Ilseong Construction representative said, “This year marks the sixth year of the Blue Dream Jaramteo project. As our corporate slogan says, ‘Small changes, big difference,’ we hope that these small changes in children’s daily lives will greatly help them grow properly in a pleasant environment.”
Meanwhile, Plan Korea and Ilseong Construction have been carrying out domestic local children's center environmental improvement projects for six years since 2018, striving to help children grow emotionally and physically healthier and properly in a safer environment.
