Busan and Daegu University Students Visit Busan Port... "We Came to Learn BPA's ESG Culture"

Why did university students from Busan and Daegu visit the Busan Port Authority (BPA)?

The Busan Port Authority (President Kang Jun-seok) announced that on the afternoon of the 30th, about 20 university students belonging to the university student networks from Busan and Daegu regions and the ESG Family visited the Busan Port Authority.

The university student network members who visited BPA that day are part of an educational program operated by the Busan Social Contribution Information Center. The ESG Family is a program run by the Daegu Social Welfare Council to nurture future social contribution activists, with students interested in social contribution or hoping to work in related fields participating.

They visited the Busan Port Authority to exchange information on ESG and social contribution between companies and university students.

BPA participates in the ‘Corporate Social Contribution Network,’ which considers and practices corporate social responsibility. In 2022, it was selected as a ‘Regional Social Contribution Recognized Company,’ actively promoting the spread of ESG culture.

On that day, the students toured Busan Port firsthand by riding a port guide boat, increasing their interest and understanding of Busan Port and the activities of the Busan Port Authority. They also attended a lecture on BPA’s ESG management activities and had time to communicate with the social contribution officers.

Kang Jun-seok, President of BPA, said, “I hope this was a time for students to learn about ESG management and social contribution activities with a sense of field experience,” and added, “We will continue to support local talents to broaden their horizons and develop their capabilities.”
