Located in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi Province, ‘Achimgoyo Arboretum’ allows visitors to view approximately 5,000 species of plants and spans a total area of 100,000 pyeong (330,000㎡). It consists of over 22 distinctive themed gardens, including Hakyung Garden, Eden Garden, Morning Plaza, Sky Path, Bonsai Garden, and Korean Garden. Seasonal festivals and exhibitions such as wildflower, hydrangea, and chrysanthemum shows are held. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful natural scenery along walking trails with poetry, the Achimgoyo Trail, Achim Valley, Tapgol, and Cheonnyeonhyang.
On June 22nd, the ‘Leg Health Companion Campaign with Dongkook Pharmaceutical’ was held here. The ‘Companion Campaign’ began in 2013 and has been conducted at locations such as Nami Island in Chuncheon, Ansan Jarak-gil in Seoul, Namsan Circular Road, and the National Arboretum. Over the years, it has established itself as Dongkook Pharmaceutical’s representative healing campaign. This year’s campaign was planned as an event to provide accurate information about venous circulation disorders, which cause leg swelling and pain, through the Sensia brand, a symptom improvement product for venous circulation disorders. A wide age range from their 20s to 50s participated. Participants enjoyed the summer atmosphere, took photos with various purple hydrangea varieties as the backdrop, and engaged in programs such as a gardening class, information sessions on venous circulation disorders and female menopause, quizzes, and recreational activities.

A mother and daughter participant said, "It’s not easy to find time to go out just the two of us, but it was nice to take photos with beautiful nature as the background, walk together, and talk after a long time." She added, "It was especially beneficial to obtain health information related to leg health, which my daughter is very interested in, about venous circulation disorders and menopause symptoms, which are concerns for women my age."
Previously, before COVID-19 in 2019, the ‘Leg Health Walking Festival with Sensia’ was held on September 28th at Baekbeom Square in Namsan Park, Seoul. About 1,000 participants, including families, friends, couples, and colleagues selected through a lottery, walked a 6.5 km course starting from Baekbeom Square in Namsan Park, passing through Seokhojeong, and returning. They also participated in a stamp rally set up in event zones along the route. A Dongkook Pharmaceutical official stated, "To convey the message that active leg health management is necessary through proven medicines like Sensia along with light walking, we will continue to carry out participant-centered social contribution activities such as the Companion Campaign."
Additionally, Dongkook Pharmaceutical has been conducting hiking safety campaigns every spring and autumn, when the number of visitors increases, in accordance with the ‘Agreement for the Establishment of a Safe Mountain Culture’ signed with the Korea National Park Service in 2009. They continuously support first aid supplies, including Madecassol ointment (quasi-drug), which are stocked in about 600 first aid kits across 22 national parks nationwide. On May 20th, the ‘24th National Park Hiking Safety Campaign with Madecassol’ was held at the entrance of the Dobongsan hiking trail in Seoul. Following last year, to ensure safe hiking for visitors, employees of Dongkook Pharmaceutical and the Korea National Park Service distributed maps indicating hiking safety rules and first aid kit locations. During the event, a ‘Defense Bugs’ mosquito repellent experience event was also held simultaneously to prepare for mosquito- and tick-borne diseases (such as Zika virus and severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome), which are known to surge from May.
