Active Discussion on Major AWS Policies
"Proposed Opinions to Be Reflected in Future Policies"
The Korea Communications Commission and the Korea Information Society Development Institute held the 8th meeting of the 2nd "Public-Private Council for User Protection in the Intelligent Information Society" on the 29th.
At this meeting, Kyung-yoon Kim, Solution Architect Manager at Amazon Web Services (AWS), introduced AWS's business strategies in the era of generative artificial intelligence. Participants showed great interest and engaged in active discussions regarding AWS's key policies to enhance accountability in AI-based models, such as pre-detection and removal of harmful data, rejection of inappropriate content input (hate speech, violence, etc.), and output filtering.
The Public-Private Council is composed of about 30 experts from various fields including academia, industry, civic groups, and government. It has previously addressed topics such as "User Protection Measures in the Era of Algorithmic Journalism" and "User Protection Issues in Generative AI-based Chatbot Services." Going forward, it plans to conduct in-depth discussions on user protection issues in the intelligent information era.
The Korea Communications Commission stated, "We appreciate the broad suggestions from experts at today's Public-Private Council regarding strengthening user protection responsibilities for AI-based models, and we will reflect the proposed opinions in future policies."
