Participation in Defense Industry Innovation Company Investment Briefing
Autonomous flight drone solution startup NearsLab announced on the 28th that it participated in the 'Defense Industry Innovation Company Investment Briefing' held at Daejeon Convention Center to inform the Defense Acquisition Program Administration and investment industry about the military applications of autonomous flight drone technology.
This investment briefing was held as a detailed event of the 2023 Defense Acquisition Parts and Equipment Exhibition and Advanced Defense Industry Exhibition. Choi Jae-hyuk, CEO of NearsLab, introduced the autonomous flight drone safety inspection solution, which has proven its technological capabilities in the global wind power plant safety inspection field, and explained ways to apply it to the defense industry sector. In particular, the indoor autonomous flight control technology currently under research can be utilized in indoor or underground facilities where GPS signals are not available, and is expected to be actively applied in the defense sector.

Meanwhile, NearsLab successfully completed its Series C investment round in April last year, raising a total of 30 billion KRW in cumulative investments. Recently, it has been attempting a full-scale entry into the defense industry sector by signing an agreement with the Daejeon Defense Venture Center. Expanding its business area from the global wind turbine safety inspection field to the defense industry sector, NearsLab is currently pursuing new investment attraction.
CEO Choi said, "NearsLab's autonomous flight drones, which were responsible for global wind power safety inspections, have now begun their takeoff to safeguard Korea's security," adding, "We will enhance technology optimized for each industry sector to solidify Korea's drone technology global leadership."
