CareDoc-Gangnam Bedro Hospital Join Hands for Senior Integrated Care and Health Promotion

Senior total care platform CareDoc and Gangnam Bedro Hospital, which has grown into a general hospital in Seoul's Gangnam district, have joined hands to provide senior-tailored healthcare.

CareDoc and Gangnam Bedro Hospital announced on the 23rd that they have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for senior integrated care and health promotion, aiming to provide senior-tailored healthcare that covers everything from checkups to diagnosis, treatment, and post-discharge care in one go.

Founded in 1992 as a neurosurgery clinic, Gangnam Bedro Hospital has provided medical services for over 30 years, including spinal disc and joint treatments, cerebrovascular, cardiac, uterine fibroids, thyroid, prostate, and kidney dialysis care. In April this year, it was promoted to a general hospital in recognition of its medical capabilities, equipped with 182 beds, 12 medical departments, and three specialized centers including spine, thyroid, and health checkups, emerging as a comprehensive medical institution. CareDoc decided on this collaboration by focusing on Gangnam Bedro Hospital’s strengths, which combine good accessibility in the Gangnam area with specialization in senior-related diseases.

The two parties agreed to mutually cooperate in three areas: senior-tailored health checkups, specialized personal nursing care, and customized care solutions for discharged patients. Starting with this, they plan to build a healthcare system optimized for the life cycle of seniors who frequently experience hospital admissions and discharges.

Notably, the service will provide senior-tailored health checkups not only for patients but also for care workers who provide care services. Care workers employed as care coordinators within CareDoc will also be able to use the customized checkup services. This initiative is based on the fact that many care workers are in the senior age group, which is prone to decreased physical strength and immunity. The goal is to regularly monitor and improve their health. Through this, the plan is to minimize the medical blind spots for care workers in the industry, improve the working environment for care laborers, and help manage their condition, ultimately providing healthier care to patients.

CareDoc will also provide professional nursing staff for patients requiring care within Gangnam Bedro Hospital. Since patients who have undergone surgery on the spine or joints often find daily movements difficult and require meticulous care, the plan is to increase the number of specialized nursing staff within the hospital through standardized nursing services. Additionally, for discharged patients, CareDoc will link its customized care solutions that support continuous care, health management, and rehabilitation at home, including daily life care services, home nursing care, and visiting exercise, to aid rapid recovery and return to daily life.

Jae-byeong Park, CEO of CareDoc, said, "We have partnered with Gangnam Bedro Hospital, which has senior medical capabilities, to create a specialized healthcare system essential for the senior life cycle." He added, "CareDoc will continue to broadly support healthcare services essential for the senior life cycle and strive to create a healthy and happy life for seniors."

Kang-jun Yoon, CEO of Gangnam Bedro Hospital, said, "In addition to establishing a vision as a general hospital equipped with a precision medical system, we decided on this collaboration to help patients’ rehabilitation and recovery through standardized nursing programs." He added, "We will solidify a medical system for total health care covering checkups, treatment, and post-care, and become a leading regional general hospital that takes the lead in resolving medical blind spots."
