Seongbuk-gu and Seokyeong University Conclude Nail Art Academy Program to Foster K-Beauty Talent

8-Week Practical Training for Seongbuk-gu Youth Aiming to Obtain National Cosmetologist (Nail) Certification

Closing Ceremony and Certificate Awarding Held on June 17

Post-Program Support Including Job Placement and Mentoring Provided to Graduates



Seongbuk-gu - Seokyeong University K-Beauty Nail Art Talent Development

Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) and Seokyeong University collaborated to operate the "Seongbuk Youth Beauty Academy Nail Art Class" to nurture K-Beauty talent and support youth employment and entrepreneurship. The closing ceremony was held on June 17 at Seokyeong University’s Yudam Hall.


The Seongbuk Youth Beauty Academy Nail Art Class was conducted over eight weeks from April 26 to June 17, targeting youth in Seongbuk-gu aspiring to become nail artists.


Seongbuk-gu provided full financial support for the entire academy program to participating youth, offering practical training courses aimed at obtaining the national cosmetologist (nail) certification at Seokyeong University’s College of Beauty Arts, which boasts the largest beauty infrastructure in Korea.


At the closing ceremony, certificates jointly signed by the Mayor of Seongbuk-gu and the Dean of the College of Beauty Arts at Seokyeong University were awarded to the academy graduates. Mayor Lee Seung-ro expressed his pleasure, stating, “I am glad that Seongbuk-gu Office and Seokyeong University have collaborated to help Seongbuk youth realize their dreams.”


He added, “Seongbuk-gu will continue to support your dreams through various youth employment and entrepreneurship initiatives such as Campus Town, Dojeon-suk, Gireum Youth Startup Street, Popup Store Gongupsa, and support for exam fees for unemployed youth’s certification and language tests. We hope Seokyeong University will also provide active post-program support such as employment and entrepreneurship counseling for graduates.”


A representative from Seokyeong University stated, “Even after the academy, we plan to utilize our abundant beauty infrastructure to connect graduates with local beauty companies for employment, as well as provide ongoing mentoring and post-program support.”
