"‘Sanyanggaedeul’ Tops Netflix TV Category but Shows Sadness"

Clear Decline in FlixPatrol Rankings
Outside Top 10 in the US, UK, Canada, and Others

'Hounds,' starring Udo Hwan and Lee Sang-yi, ranked first in weekly viewing hours in the Netflix TV category. According to Netflix on the 21st, it was watched for 65.9 million hours over the seven days from the 12th to the 18th. It easily surpassed competing titles such as 'Never Have I Ever' Season 4 (56.4 million hours), 'Black Mirror' Season 6 (58.7 million hours), 'Fake Profile' Season 1 (35.2 million hours), and 'Surrogate Mother' Season 1 (57.1 million hours).

The sustained rise is not expected to last long. According to FlixPatrol, an online content service ranking site, 'Hounds' did not rank first in viewing hours in a single country the day before. In particular, it fell outside the top 10 in countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Croatia, Denmark, and the Netherlands. In South Korea, it ranked second, behind 'King the Land,' starring Lee Junho and Im Yoon-ah. This is in stark contrast to a week ago when it entered the top 5 in most countries.

'Hounds' tells the story of two young men caught up in the world of loan sharks who risk their lives to fight against a vast evil force. The cast includes Udo Hwan, Lee Sang-yi, Heo Jun-ho, Park Sung-woong, and Choi Si-won. The direction and screenplay were handled by director Kim Joo-hwan, known for the films 'Midnight Runners' (2017) and 'The Divine Fury' (2019). It was co-produced by Seed Film and Seven O Six, based on the webtoon of the same name on Naver.
