Gwangju Nam-gu Provides 2.2 Million Won Support for Insulation and Boiler Replacement for Low-Income Households

Gwangju Nam-gu Provides 2.2 Million Won Support for Insulation and Boiler Replacement for Low-Income Households

On the 20th, Nam-gu announced that it will provide 2 million KRW per household to improve energy efficiency and energy welfare for low-income families.

Households wishing to apply for replacements should promptly submit their applications at the administrative welfare center of their residential district.

The energy efficiency improvement project for low-income households is based on an agreement between Nam-gu and the Korea Energy Foundation to realize energy welfare for vulnerable families, with all replacement costs fully funded by national government subsidies.

Nam-gu and the Korea Energy Foundation plan to support insulation, windows, floor piping, boiler construction, and other works for 500 vulnerable households in the district.

The support targets include households receiving basic national livelihood security benefits, near-poverty class, and low-income families. Those wishing to apply should visit the administrative welfare center of their residential district.

Nam-gu explained that the energy efficiency improvement project for low-income households will continue until the project funds are exhausted, so prompt application is necessary.

However, households receiving housing benefits while being eligible for self-owned repair and maintenance benefits, or those living in public rental housing owned by LH or local urban corporations, are excluded from support.

Additionally, households that have received support from this project within the past two years are not eligible to apply.

So far, about 300 households have applied for this project out of the total 500 households targeted for support this year.

For further inquiries, contact the Environmental Ecology Division of Nam-gu Office or the administrative welfare center of your district.
