‘The 2nd Gangbuk Debate Concert’ Held

Seoul’s Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Soon-hee) announced the launch of the ‘Gangbuk Debate Concert,’ a small-scale concert-style democratic citizenship education program combining music and debate.

The ‘Gangbuk Debate Concert’ will be held on July 1st at 2 PM at Everyone's Yard of the Gangbuk-gu Lifelong Learning Center (145 Ohyeon-ro, Gangbuk-gu, 4th floor of Gangbuk Cultural Information Library).

The concert will feature a lecture by Lee Yoon-hee, a research fellow at the Climate Change Action Research Institute, lasting about 30 minutes on the theme of ‘Good Consumption,’ covering the meaning of consumption, examples of good consumption activities, and ways to promote them. This will be followed by about 50 minutes of discussion and opinion sharing with participating residents. Before and after the lecture, a guitar performance related to the theme of ‘Good Consumption’ will be held.

Residents wishing to participate in the debate concert can apply through the Gangbuk-gu website by 6 PM on June 28th. The number of participants is limited to 30, and applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Participation is free of charge.

For more details, inquiries can be made to the Gangbuk-gu Education Support Division.

Mayor Lee Soon-hee of Gangbuk-gu stated, “This debate concert will provide an opportunity to understand the meaning of good consumption for realizing social values such as environment, neighbors, and health,” adding, “We will continue to hold meaningful educational programs that help residents enhance their capabilities as democratic citizens.”

Meanwhile, the district plans to hold the ‘3rd Gangbuk Debate Concert’ around September.
