The European Economic Research Center (ZEW) announced on the 13th (local time) that the Eurozone Economic Sentiment Index for June was recorded at -10. This was better than the expected -11.9.

The ZEW Economic Sentiment Index is an indicator of the Eurozone's economic outlook for the next six months. A figure above 0 indicates an optimistic economic outlook, while a figure below 0 indicates a pessimistic outlook. It is calculated based on a survey of 350 German institutional investors and analysts.

Although the figure was negative, it was higher than expected. When the actual statistics are higher than expected, it means the value and outlook of the euro are positive.
