The group BTS celebrated their 10th debut anniversary on the 13th.
BTS debuted in the music industry on June 13, 2013, with their debut single '2 COOL 4 SKOOL.' Since their debut, they have steadily grown and have now established themselves as a representative K-pop group and a '21st-century pop icon,' setting numerous firsts and records in the global popular music scene.
BTS made their debut statement in the music industry with the title track 'No More Dream' from their debut single in 2013. Sweeping rookie awards both domestically and internationally upon debut, BTS began gaining significant popularity with their third mini-album 'Hwa Yang Yeon Hwa pt.1' released in 2015.
After completing the 'school trilogy' with '2 COOL 4 SKOOL,' 'O!RUL8,2?' and 'Skool Luv Affair,' BTS themed 'Hwa Yang Yeon Hwa,' which means the most beautiful moment in life, to talk about 'youth' where beauty and anxiety coexist.
BTS spread the brilliant energy of youth to music fans with their mini-album 'Hwa Yang Yeon Hwa pt.2,' completing the 'youth two-part series,' and achieved the milestone of entering the Billboard 200, the main album chart of the American music media Billboard, for the first time, accelerating their global popularity.
Their journey soon became a history of K-pop 'firsts.' 'Dynamite' became the first Korean artist work to rank number one on Billboard's main singles chart, the 'Hot 100,' followed by 'Life Goes On,' which made history as the first Korean-language song to top the Billboard chart in its 62-year history.
Afterwards, BTS topped the 'Hot 100' six times in total with 'Butter,' 'Permission to Dance,' 'Savage Love (Laxed - Siren Beat)' in collaboration with Jason Derulo, and 'My Universe' in collaboration with Coldplay. They also achieved six number-one albums on the 'Billboard 200.'
In addition, BTS was nominated for the 'Grammy Awards' for three consecutive years and held solo concerts. They solidified their global influence by winning the 'American Music Awards' for five consecutive years and the 'Billboard Music Awards' for six consecutive years.
Last year, BTS declared the start of their 'second act,' focusing on group albums and individual activities. Each member released albums filled with their own musical colors and engaged in various entertainment activities, showcasing new charms. On the 9th, they released the 10th anniversary digital single 'Take Two,' once again conquering the top of global music charts.
'Take Two' is a song expressing gratitude to ARMY, who have shared brilliant moments over the past 10 years, appreciation for the love sent by fans, and the hope to continue together. Marking their 10th debut anniversary, BTS stands at the starting line for a new beginning, with ARMY walking alongside them, having stayed by their side until now.
Various events commemorating BTS's 10th debut anniversary are also underway. Including the release of the new song 'Take Two,' the BTS 10th Anniversary Festa (2023 BTS FESTA) held both online and offline under the slogan 'BTS PRESENTS EVERYWHERE' will host various events, coloring the world purple.
On the 17th, the grand finale of the festival, 'BTS 10th Anniversary FESTA @Yeouido,' will take place around Yeouido Hangang Park. BTS has prepared various booths for the public to enjoy together, and on the day at 5 PM, RM will host '5 PM, This is Kim Namjoon,' followed by a fireworks show featuring BTS's hit songs and narration by Jungkook for about 30 minutes starting at 8:30 PM.
