LS Electric Unveils Numerous Innovative Products at World's Largest ESS Exhibition

Participation in EES Europe and InterBattery Europe in Munich, Germany from 14th to 16th
Introducing Modular ESS and SST-based Electric Vehicle Charging Platforms

LS ELECTRIC announced on the 13th that it will participate in the world's largest ESS (Energy Storage System) and battery exhibition to unveil a large number of innovative products.

LS ELECTRIC stated that it will participate in 'EES (Electrical Energy Storage) Europe 2023' and 'InterBattery Europe 2023,' held from the 14th to 16th (local time) at Messe M?nchen exhibition center in Germany.

Under the main concept of "Challenge Towards the Future of Green Energy," the company will organize three themed zones: Green Energy Solutions, Battery Solutions, and Digital Transformation Solutions, showcasing products tailored for the European market.

For Green Energy Solutions, it will present modular ESS, next-generation DC (Direct Current) power devices, and Factory Energy Management Systems (Factory-EMS).

It will introduce the industrial ESS platform 'MSSP (Modular Scalable String Platform).' This product modularizes the core power conversion component PEBB (Power Electronic Building Block) in 200kW units to enable independent operation.

A full package of DC power devices, including DC wiring circuit breakers (MCCB·Molded Case Circuit Breaker), will be unveiled. The company emphasizes its capability to supply eco-friendly power solutions applied to power systems ranging from renewable energy generation, transmission and transformation, to distribution.

As a battery solution, LS ELECTRIC will introduce an SST (Solid State Transformer)-based electric vehicle charging platform. By applying power semiconductors, it enables both voltage transformation and DC-AC (Alternating Current) conversion. Electric vehicle chargers and batteries use DC. Unlike AC, DC requires a separate power conversion device to be installed at EV charging stations. Using SST eliminates the need for a separate power conversion device, thereby reducing installation space.

Utilizing the SST-based EV charging platform allows measurement and collection of power usage data. This enables the application of time-of-use tariffs and control of charging amounts.

An LS ELECTRIC official said, "We expect to demonstrate LS ELECTRIC's unique smart energy innovation technology and business capabilities through the exhibition," adding, "We will accelerate business expansion in the European market by implementing aggressive carbon emission reduction policies to overcome carbon-neutral trade barriers."

In April, LS ELECTRIC won a contract worth approximately 120 billion KRW to build the Bottley ESS project in the UK. This is the largest overseas ESS project order for LS ELECTRIC. Electricity generated in the Bottley area will be stably supplied to the UK power public enterprise National Grid transmission network through the ESS system.
