Hurim Networks, Antenna Division Promotes Establishment of European Subsidiary

Hurim Networks is set to actively target the local European market.

Hurim Networks announced on the 12th that it plans to establish a local subsidiary in Germany and directly enter the European market. Through the establishment of the German subsidiary, Hurim Networks aims to strengthen its local response strategy and enhance its market position by directly supplying antennas to major European telecommunications companies in the future.

According to data recently released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as of last year, there are over 250,000 5G base stations within the European Union (EU). It is known that most networks are still using 4G bands based on DSS (Dynamic Spectrum Sharing). In terms of the number of 5G base stations per one million people, South Korea has 415, whereas the EU has only 7.

Hurim Networks explained that, anticipating a large demand for base stations in the European market, it plans to secure a leading position based on its long-standing experience.

Since 2016, Hurim Networks has been supplying antennas to major European markets and building networks with local companies. In 2015, it entered the U.S. market and achieved a cumulative export amount of 15 million dollars.

A Hurim Networks official said, "The European region is a market with great growth potential in the 5G sector. Through the establishment of the German subsidiary, Hurim Networks will closely monitor local market trends and collaborate with local partners."

He added, "Building on past overseas achievements such as being selected as an antenna supplier for major U.S. telecommunications companies, as well as recognized technology and brand value domestically, we will actively pursue the European market."

Hurim Networks has been invited to SK Telecom’s co-growth commemorative event, ‘Partners day,’ for five consecutive years and won the top award in the network sector. It has also received an ‘Excellent’ rating in comprehensive evaluations such as quality from KT and LGU+, gaining recognition for its technological capabilities from the three major domestic mobile carriers.
