Oh Eun-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, is speaking at the final report meeting of the Dobong-gu Commercial Area Revitalization Research Service and the merchants' meeting held on December 26 last year.
Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) announced that it will conduct on-site tours of excellent domestic markets (shopping districts) and customized consulting tailored to the characteristics of each commercial area to secure a continuous growth foundation and competitiveness of local commercial districts.
This project was promoted to strengthen the specialization and competitiveness of local commercial districts by benchmarking the success factors of excellent domestic markets (shopping districts) according to the district’s circumstances and providing customized consulting reflecting the opinions of experts in each field.
The district targets a total of 11 locations, including 6 traditional markets and 5 shopping districts (alley-type shopping districts), conducting ▲commercial area analysis (investigation and analysis of excellent markets customized for each traditional market commercial area) ▲field visits and benchmarking of excellent markets (listening to the success know-how of merchant associations) ▲meetings (comparing the visited sites with the district’s commercial areas and setting project directions) ▲linkage with commercial area consulting (linking and promoting operational consulting to develop specialized strategies for each commercial area).
More than 50 participants, including merchant association executives and managers, will join the excellent market tours, visiting four locations in sequence from the 14th: ▲Bucheon Yeokgok Sangsang Market ▲Incheon Gaehang Nurigil (Sinpo Market) ▲Mangridan-gil (Mangwon Market) in Mapo-gu, Seoul ▲Dokkaebi Market in Gongneung-dong, Nowon-gu, Seoul.
Going forward, the district plans to discover specialization elements and set project directions for each commercial area based on benchmarking and analysis results.
Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, “I hope that the customized consulting following this excellent market benchmarking will be an opportunity to respond to changes in the distribution environment and consumer trends and to develop differentiated products and services for the commercial areas.”
