Sam Altman, the founder and CEO of OpenAI, which developed ChatGPT, said that the United States and China need to cooperate on artificial intelligence (AI) regulation.
On the 10th (local time), Altman delivered a virtual speech at an AI conference hosted by the Beijing Artificial Intelligence Academy in China, stating, "With the emergence of increasingly powerful AI systems, the importance of global cooperation has never been greater," according to foreign media such as The Wall Street Journal.
He added, "China has the world's top AI talent," and "Considering the fundamental difficulty of aligning advanced AI systems, the best talent in the world is needed."
Since the launch of ChatGPT in November last year, it has gained great popularity worldwide, but China is one of the countries that have blocked ChatGPT. Earlier, on the 9th, Altman visited South Korea and emphasized, "Global cooperation is necessary for AI regulation."
