In the video, the woman is seen squatting in what appears to be a bathroom, stacking several trays inside the urinal and washing them by spraying water with a hose. She then places the cleaned trays on top of other trays stacked on the floor.
As the video rapidly spread online and the controversy grew, the city authorities formed a joint investigation team consisting of the city’s education bureau and the market supervision administration to conduct an inquiry.
The investigation confirmed that the situation in the video was true. On the same day, the authorities ordered the kindergarten to close temporarily and stated that they are investigating the responsible persons and related parties. They also pledged to impose strict penalties according to relevant laws and regulations.
Netizens who learned of the news reacted with comments such as, “I don’t understand what they were thinking washing trays in a urinal,” and “I can’t safely entrust my child there.”
Meanwhile, a hygiene controversy recently arose at the cafeteria of a vocational college located in Jiangxi Province, where the kindergarten is situated. On the 1st, a student posted a video on SNS claiming that a foreign object suspected to be a rat’s head was found in the cafeteria food. The video showed the object with a white part that appeared to be a rat’s tooth attached.
Two days later, the school stated, “The object was confirmed not to be a foreign object but food made from a duck’s neck,” adding, “The student who posted the video accepted this explanation, submitted a written statement, and deleted the video.” The city’s market supervision administration also confirmed, “The investigation concluded that it was definitely a duck’s neck.” However, despite the authorities’ explanation, netizens responded with comments such as, “No matter how you look at it, it doesn’t look like a duck’s neck,” and “There are teeth visible, so calling it a duck is absurd.”
