Jang Jun-hee, deputy chief prosecutor of the Busan District Prosecutors' Office (age 53, Judicial Research and Training Institute class 31) and whistleblower in the 'Kim Hak-ui illegal departure ban investigation obstruction' case, is leaving the prosecution.
On the 8th, Deputy Chief Prosecutor Jang posted a resignation greeting titled "Leaving the Prosecution" on the prosecution's internal network.
Deputy Chief Prosecutor Jang, who applied for honorary retirement last month and will leave the prosecution as of the 10th, said, "Although I am leaving the prosecution, I will always support my colleagues who, like small candles, repeatedly work overtime and give up weekends to uncover the truth of cases, protect wronged victims, and strive for justice."
In March 2019, Deputy Chief Prosecutor Jang reported as a whistleblower that Lee Gyu-won, deputy chief prosecutor of the Chuncheon District Prosecutors' Office, who was dispatched to the Supreme Prosecutors' Office's Past Affairs Investigation Team at the time, detected circumstances of illegally banning former Vice Minister Kim's departure, but the investigation was blocked by Lee Seong-yoon, a research fellow and head of the Anti-Corruption and Strong Crime Division at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office.
