Mercedes-Benz Launches Pre-Orders for Completely Redesigned GLC Starting at 75.7 Million KRW

Gasoline Model Priced at 85.8 Million Won

Mercedes-Benz Korea has unveiled the detailed lineup of the completely redesigned mid-size sport utility vehicle (SUV) GLC and will begin pre-orders from the 8th.


This vehicle is the third-generation fully redesigned model, first unveiled worldwide in May last year. Since its launch, it has sold 2.6 million units and has been the best-selling model in the Mercedes-Benz lineup over the past two years.


In the domestic market, the diesel engine 220d 4MATIC and the gasoline engine 300 4MATIC will be released first. A 48V mild hybrid system is applied to all trims. Prices (including VAT) are 75.7 million KRW and 85.8 million KRW, respectively.

The exterior of this vehicle is up to 55 mm longer compared to the previous generation. The diesel model features an Avantgarde exterior design with chrome accents and a radiator grille with a dark gray Louvre finish. The gasoline model is equipped with the AMG Line design, including a Mercedes pattern radiator grille and AMG front apron. The wheelbase has increased by 15 mm, and the trunk space has expanded by 70 liters, allowing a maximum of 620 liters when the second-row seats are folded down.

The side profile is smoothly designed, achieving an improved drag coefficient of 0.29Cd, which is 0.02Cd better than the previous generation. The rear emphasizes width with a three-dimensional rear lamp design.

The interior features air vents reminiscent of aircraft engine covers. The driver's seat is equipped with a 12.3-inch LCD screen, and the center console houses an 11.9-inch display. Mercedes-Benz's second-generation MBUX infotainment system is installed. The steering wheel has been upgraded with a switch pad and touch control buttons. Ambient lighting supports 64 colors. Heated steering wheel, noise-reducing glass, and heated and ventilated front seats are standard features.

For the gasoline model, the Burmester surround sound system is provided as a standard feature.

The mild hybrid system supports up to 17 kW and 200 Nm of power and torque through the second-generation integrated starter generator by supplying additional electricity to the internal combustion engine. The 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system and off-road driving mode are equipped, providing driving force and safety that can handle both on- and off-road conditions, according to the company. Rear axle steering, which supports up to 4.5 degrees of steering and reduces the turning radius by 90 cm, and Airmatic air suspension are offered as optional features.


The latest version of the driving assistance system is included as a standard feature. This system maintains distance from the vehicle ahead, supports automatic speed control, braking, and start assistance, and responds to stationary vehicles on the road at speeds up to 100 km/h. Lane detection functionality has been added through a 360-degree camera, and recognition of roadwork signs and wet road condition signs has been added in addition to existing speed limit sign recognition.
