Jeon Seung-il, a member of the Gwangju Seo-gu Council, announced on the 7th that by proposing amendments to the operating rules of the Residents' Autonomy Committee, he has laid the foundation for the committee's new leap forward.
At the 311th extraordinary session, Councilor Jeon improved and supplemented deficiencies in the operation of the Residents' Autonomy Committee by ▲strengthening the qualification requirements for hiring the secretariat clerk of the Residents' Autonomy Committee ▲revising the ordinance basis for the clerk's salary from 'actual expenses' to 'actual expenses and allowances, etc.' ▲and addressing budget returns in cases of illegal or improper operation of the autonomy committee.
Through this amendment to the operating rules, Councilor Jeon stated, "This allows the Residents' Autonomy Committee to correct improper budget management on its own, providing an opportunity to establish a practical foundation for residents' autonomy. Additionally, mandatory education and qualification requirements have been added to strengthen the professionalism of the secretariat clerk." He added, "I will strive even harder to establish sound residents' autonomy."
