[Law Firm Now] Barun Holds Webinar on 'One Year of Serious Accident Punishment Act, Response Strategies'

Law firm Bareun (representative lawyers Park Jaepil, Lee Donghoon, Lee Younghee) will hold a webinar on the 15th titled "One Year Since the Enforcement of the Serious Accident Punishment Act, What Is Your Company's Response Strategy?"

According to Bareun on the 7th, this webinar is organized to analyze related rulings and investigation trends over the past year since the enforcement of the Serious Accident Punishment Act, and to present response strategies and implications. Issues related to the operation of safety and health management systems will also be examined.

Currently, there are strong calls in the industry for the establishment of exemption provisions and legislative supplements. Serious accidents have not decreased even after the law's enforcement, and from January 27, 2024, the Serious Accident Punishment Act will also apply to workplaces with fewer than 50 regular employees (construction projects under 5 billion KRW in contract amount), which had been granted a three-year grace period.

The webinar will be held on Thursday, June 15, starting at 3 p.m. via live broadcast on YouTube, consisting of three sessions. Lawyer Lee Sangjin (Judicial Research and Training Institute class 30), head of Bareun's Serious Accident Response Center, will present on "Recent Case Analysis and Implications," and lawyer Kang Taehoon (class 36) will speak on "Recent Investigation Trends and Response Measures."

Lawyer Kim Jihui (1st Bar Exam) will present on "Issues in Operating Safety and Health Management Systems." A Q&A session will follow the presentations.
