Scheduled to Attend NATO Summit Next Month
U.S. President Joe Biden held talks with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen at the White House on the 5th (local time) to discuss security plans, including military support for Ukraine.
According to foreign media such as the U.S. daily The New York Times (NYT), one of the main agenda items discussed by President Biden and Prime Minister Frederiksen was the U.S.-made F-16 fighter jet support requested by Ukraine.
Fearing escalation, the U.S. government had been rejecting Ukraine's request for F-16 fighter jets but shifted last month toward approving allies providing F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine.

Denmark, which operates about 30 F-16 fighter jets, has expressed willingness to train Ukrainian pilots.
Mette Frederiksen, who is being mentioned as a candidate for the next Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), reportedly stated after her meeting with President Biden that she is not a candidate for NATO Secretary General, according to Reuters. Jens Stoltenberg, the current NATO Secretary General, will end his term at the end of September. President Biden is scheduled to hold talks with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak at the White House on the 8th.
