‘Establishment of Comprehensive Plan for Future Education City Geochang’

Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 6th that it held a forum at the Geochang-gun Youth Training Center Hanmadangteo to reflect the opinions of residents in the comprehensive plan (master plan) for the future education city of Geochang.

The forum was attended by 40 people including Park Su-ja, vice chairman of the county council, county council members, education officials, and parents, and lively discussions continued from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam is holding a public forum for residents on creating a future education city.

The participants were divided into six groups of six people each to establish the direction and goals of education that Geochang-gun should pursue. They also jointly considered detailed implementation plans for education tailored to the characteristics of infants, elementary, middle, and high school students, university students, and young adults, freely discussing and gathering opinions.

At the forum, various opinions were presented regarding the future direction of Geochang-gun’s educational development, including ▲ a happy education city good for raising children ▲ education, housing, job stability, and strengthening public education capabilities to create a happy generation-customized educational environment ▲ community education that integrates generations ▲ education centered on the happiness of children and parents ▲ securing abundant budgets for children’s education.

A resident who attended the forum said, “I was worried it might be a stiff occasion, but I am satisfied that I could freely express my opinions,” adding, “I hope the opinions of the residents are well conveyed and reflected a lot.”

Jung Hyun-soo, Director of the Administrative Bureau, said, “We thank all the residents who participated in the forum. The various opinions proposed through the forum will be actively reflected in Geochang-gun’s education policy after thorough discussions with the service provider, realizing a premium education city where dreams can unfold.”

Meanwhile, Geochang-gun has been promoting the establishment of a comprehensive plan for the future education city of Geochang since November last year to materialize the dream-fulfilling premium education, the goal of the 8th local government administration, and to set new standards for future education that will lead the sustainable development of the education city Geochang.
