On the 4th, at the Korea Racing Authority's LetsRun Park Busan-Gyeongnam Racecourse 6th race, ‘Jeulgeoun Yeojeong’ and jockey Da Silva claimed victory in the ‘Korean Oaks’.
‘Jeulgeoun Yeojeong’ secured back-to-back wins in the first and second legs of the Triple Tiara series, moving one step closer to the title of the best 3-year-old domestic filly. Trainer Kim Young-kwan earned his sixth Korean Oaks trophy.
The winning horse ‘Jeulgeoun Yeojeong’ ran on the outside in the early part of the race, staying with the leading group, and moved up to second place after the 4th corner. It maintained its pace on the straight course and comfortably won by 4 lengths. The race time was recorded at 1 minute 55.5 seconds.
‘Raon Forest’ from gate 1 developed steadily on the inside of the track but could not surpass ‘Jeulgeoun Yeojeong’ and finished second, while ‘Wonderful Slew’ took third place.
Jockey Da Silva said, “‘Jeulgeoun Yeojeong’ was in much better condition than the previous race, so I was able to ride comfortably,” adding, “Trainer Kim Young-kwan told me to trust the horse regardless of position since she was in good shape, so I was able to follow calmly.”
