Utilizing MyData... Hana Card Also Enables Limit Inquiry
Through KakaoPay, users with limited financial history will be able to check in advance whether they are eligible for a credit card issuance and their credit limit.
KakaoPay announced on the 5th that it will launch the 'Instantly Issuable Card View' service.
The service targets users aged 19 and older, allowing them to verify credit card issuance eligibility and check card limits through pre-screening by card companies. The card screening is conducted based on the user's credit status and financial history. KakaoPay intermediates the user's financial asset information, connected via MyData (personal credit information management service), to the card companies, which then use the income assessment data to proceed with the issuance screening.
Users can immediately check their eligibility and the list of available cards by simply entering their resident registration number after agreeing to the required terms. This simplifies the previous card screening process, which required entering personal information one by one. Some card companies even allow users to check their credit card limits.
Currently, the available card companies are Shinhan Card and Hana Card. Shinhan Card allows users to check issuance eligibility, while Hana Card provides limit inquiries as well. KakaoPay plans to expand partnerships with more card companies in the future.
A KakaoPay representative stated, "KakaoPay will actively utilize MyData to continuously expand new user-centered services. We will lead efforts to provide various benefits that users want while fostering a healthy financial ecosystem."
