Seogwipo Fire Station Designates 'Haweon-dong Village' as a Fire-Free Safe Village

Seogwipo Fire Station (Chief Park Gwang-chan) designated Haweon-dong village as the 26th fire-free safe village and held a designation ceremony at the Haweon-dong Village Hall on the 2nd.


According to Seogwipo Fire Station on the 5th, a fire-free safe village is a village designated and managed by the fire station to provide fire services such as the distribution of residential fire safety equipment and resident safety education so that residents can create a safe village on their own.

The event was attended by about 20 people including firefighters, volunteer firefighters, the Safety Love Seogwipo Citizens' Coalition, and village residents, and proceeded with the appointment of village safety managers, donation of residential fire safety equipment, and a plaque unveiling ceremony.


In addition, to establish an efficient autonomous safety management system such as fire prevention and initial response, a fire policy meeting was held with village residents, and fire extinguishers and residential fire alarms were installed in households residing in Haweon-dong.


Kang Chang-joo, the village chief appointed as the village safety manager that day, said, "We will build an organic cooperative system with the fire station so that Haweon-dong village can be safe from fire."
