A man in his 20s was arrested and sent to trial for luring minors to film sexually exploitative material and receiving such content.
The Women and Children Crime Investigation Division of the Seoul Northern District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Lee Seonnyeo) announced on the 4th that they have indicted a man in his 20s, identified as A, on charges of violating the Act on the Protection of Children and Juveniles from Sexual Abuse.
The prosecution also requested an electronic location tracking device order, citing the considerable number of offenses and the fact that the victims were minors.
A is accused of approaching 17 victims through platforms such as YouTube from January last year to March this year, demanding photos and videos exposing their bodies and receiving such content. A is also charged with sexually assaulting one victim at their home.
All victims were children and adolescents, with 14 males and 3 females identified.
It was found that A possessed hundreds of sexually exploitative materials. None of the photos or videos were distributed.
The prosecution stated that psychological treatment and other support were provided to the victims, and they plan to request confiscation of A’s PC containing the exploitative materials during the trial to prevent any possibility of distribution.
