KBS News 9 Interview... "Yeongung Sidae Is My Everything"
Singer Lim Young-woong revealed his new song inspired by a poetry collection and his plans for overseas activities.
On the afternoon of the 2nd, Lim Young-woong appeared on KBS News9 and said, "I was inspired by reading the poetry collection of poet Na Tae-joo," adding, "I wrote the lyrics while looking at the scenery in the United States and reflecting on various thoughts."
Regarding his recently released song "London Boy," he recalled, "The lyrics and melody came to me clearly, so I wrote and hummed it, and it was completed quickly."
The new song "Sand Grains" will be revealed on the KBS2 variety show "My Little Hero," airing on the 3rd. Lim Young-woong said, "I participated in both writing and composing, and I was especially deeply involved in the lyrics."
He said, "When filming variety shows or appearing on TV, I tend to broadcast with a higher tone and tension than usual." He added, "My real self is quieter, with a lower tone and a comfortable feeling, but I approached the filming this time like that." He continued, "It was embarrassing since it had been a while, but I opened my heart without hiding anything."
When asked if he becomes a different person on stage, Lim Young-woong said, "I get nervous, but I have liked being noticed and going on stage since I was young," adding, "My hands and feet tremble and I sweat when I go on stage, but I really like it."
He also shared his feelings about meeting fans at the U.S. concert "I'm Hero in Los Angeles" last February. Lim Young-woong said, "Meeting (fans) directly in the U.S. felt like meeting my real family."
He set goals for this year as well. He said, "I want to dream of challenges I can take on." He continued, "I want to empathize with more generations and broaden my musical spectrum. I hope to have opportunities to connect with people overseas and will work hard."
He added, "There is a saying that if you desperately want something, the whole universe helps you. If you wish earnestly and dream vividly, there is nothing you cannot achieve," showing his determination.
Lim Young-woong also showed special affection for his fan club "Hero Era." He said, "It always feels like a dream," adding, "Hero Era is my everything?they let me live my life, helped me achieve my dreams, and gave me the courage to challenge myself."
