The movie 'Concrete Utopia' is set to be released in August, Lotte Entertainment announced on the 2nd.
'Concrete Utopia' is a disaster drama depicting the story that begins as survivors gather in the only remaining Hwanggung Apartment in Seoul, which has become a ruin due to a great earthquake. It is newly adapted from the second part, 'Cheerful Neighbors,' of the popular webtoon 'Cheerful Outcast' by writer Kim Soongnyung, which received acclaim since its serialization in 2014.
The film is co-produced by Climax Studio, known for 'Hell' and 'D.P.', and BH Entertainment, starring actors Lee Byung-hun, Park Seo-joon, and Park Bo-young.
Lee Byung-hun plays Yeongtak, a new resident representative who does not hesitate to face any danger to protect the apartment from outsiders, presenting a powerful character. Park Seo-joon takes on the role of Minseong, who devotes himself to protecting the apartment and his family, with Park Bo-young playing his wife.
