Venture Association Holds Forum in Jeju: "Entrepreneurs Need IP-R&D Education"

The Venture Business Association jointly held the '25th Venture Insight Forum' on the 2nd at the Maison Glad Jeju Hotel with the Jeju branch of the Venture Business Association.


Through the forum, the Venture Business Association has been providing insights necessary for venture and startup CEOs and executives on the latest technology and industry trends, management, and humanities. Since 2021, it has been touring regions to promote exchanges among local ventures and startups, and this year it was held in Jeju.


About 100 people attended the forum, including Kim Ki-hwan, member of the Jeju Special Self-Governing Provincial Council; Kim Chi-hoon, head of the Jeju Regional Headquarters of the Small and Medium Business Corporation; Kim Kwang-seo, chairman of the Jeju Credit Guarantee Foundation; Ko Eun-sook, president of Jeju Tourism Organization; Kang Tae-young, director of the LINK3.0 Project Group at Jeju National University; Hwang Seok-yeon, director of Jeju The Bigger Tomorrow Center; Yoon Sang-eun, president of the Korean Management Technology Guidance Society Jeju branch, and other executives.


The forum lecture was conducted by Professor Kim In-jung, director of the Intellectual Property Education Center at Jeju National University, who provided education on intellectual property (IP) rights that venture entrepreneurs must know. Professor Kim said, "Education on 'IP-R&D,' a method where researchers utilize intellectual property information to plan research and development and strategically apply it to industrialization, is essential for venture companies."


In the second part, Kang Woo-hyun, CEO of Tamnara Republic, gave a lecture titled "Doing as I Please, Yet It Also Pleases You," sharing on-site management cases and creative approaches. He emphasized that venture entrepreneurs should apply creative thinking methods of adding, subtracting, mixing, and extending to foster venture growth.


Lee Jung-min, secretary general of the Venture Business Association, stated, "We plan to maintain organic communication with local venture companies continuously," adding, "We will work together with venture companies to achieve regional social development."


Kim Soo-jung, president of the Jeju branch of the Venture Business Association, which hosted the forum, said, "We will make continuous efforts along with the association and related local organizations to discover joint projects that can be carried out with the region."
