Sunchang-gun, Shilland Healing and Training Program Receives Positive Response

Shilland, established as a representative healing tourist destination in Sunchang-gun, Jeonbuk, is operating diverse and abundant healing and training programs this year as well. On the 2nd, about 20 people, including children and parents from Donggye Kindergarten, visited Shilland to fully enjoy the happiness of nature.

The ‘Forest Coc Project’ is one of Shilland’s signature programs that continues to receive great response since last year. It is designed to help children and adolescents recognize various changes in the surrounding nature, enhance ecological sensitivity through experiential activities, and promote a healthy dietary culture.

The first activity of the day was ‘Natural Dyeing Using Wild Grasses and Wildflowers,’ where children rubbed and pounded wild grasses and wildflowers to create handkerchiefs dyed with the colors of nature, freely expressing their creativity.

In particular, the time spent observing various insects and flowers in the forest and garden surrounding Shilland and interacting with nature was highly praised as a precious moment that provided mental and physical stability to both children and parents.

Finally, the schedule concluded with a dessert experience using rice instead of wheat flour, which can cause digestive disorders or allergies in children with weak immunity, proposing a food culture that captures both taste and health.

Choi Young-il, the county governor, said, “Many people want to visit Shilland, which boasts excellent ecological resources, so the county is striving to develop and operate customized programs by target and age group this year as well.”

He added, “Especially this year, to realize the county administration slogan ‘Sunchang where all citizens are happy,’ we will do our best to make the experience programs more accessible to the citizens.”
