The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters announced on the 2nd that at the '24th Gyeonggi-do 119 Firefighting Children's Song Contest' held on the 1st at the Suwon Gyeonggi Arts Center Grand Theater, a total of 28 teams participated, including 23 kindergarten teams and 5 elementary school teams from the Gyeonggi area, with Solgaram Kindergarten and Anyang Jungang Elementary School receiving the grand prize.

The 119 Firefighting Children's Song Contest is held annually to provide an opportunity to sing songs of dreams and hope while naturally enjoying and learning about safety through singing firefighting children's songs.

The teams that won the grand prize will represent Gyeonggi-do at the '24th National 119 Firefighting Children's Song Contest' in September.

Notably, this year's contest was made more meaningful by the special participation of a foreign student team from Ansan Jaion International Intercultural Alternative School, marking a first nationwide.

Cho Sun-ho, head of the Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters, said, "It was a meaningful opportunity for children and adults to think together about fire safety," adding, "We will continue to expand the field of safety culture education where all residents can learn and practice together."

Gyeonggi-do Governor Kim Dong-yeon, in a video congratulatory message, stated, "Through today's contest, children, parents, families, and instructors come together to remind us of the importance of family, and I am confident it will greatly help children grow into mature adults with a strong sense of safety," promising, "Gyeonggi-do will strive to create a safer and better living environment so that children can grow with dreams and hopes as valuable assets of the future."

Meanwhile, the contest was also broadcast live on the Gyeonggi-do government YouTube channel, recording 11,000 views.
