Cheon Chang-su Superintendent Provides Abuse of Power Prevention Training for Senior Officials

Cheon Chang-su, Superintendent of Education for Ulsan City, will conduct direct training on preventing power abuse for senior public officials to promote a culture of integrity and create an educational environment in Ulsan where everyone is respected.


The training will be held on the 2nd at 2 PM for 30 minutes in the main auditorium of the City Office of Education, with about 80 senior public officials attending.


On this day, Superintendent Cheon introduced recent cases of power abuse occurring in both public and private sectors and the current state of organizational culture. He emphasized that to become a good leader, one must possess the virtues of integrity, communication, respect, and empathy, and understand a horizontal organizational culture. He also stressed the importance of striving to view organizational members as beings of equal value.

Following the power abuse prevention training, a ‘Code of Conduct for Public Officials Training and Integrity Festival’ will also be held.


At the event, a sand art performance on integrity and training on the code of conduct for public officials will be conducted in collaboration with the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission’s Integrity Training Center.


About 500 participants will attend, including Grade 5 (or equivalent) and above officials from the main office, school principals, public kindergarten principals, and administrative directors.


Superintendent Cheon Chang-su said, “I am always grateful for the active interest and cooperation of senior public officials and the Ulsan education family in rooting integrity in Ulsan education,” adding, “Let us continue to work together to uphold the status of a power abuse-free and integrity-based Ulsan education where everyone respects and cares for each other.”


The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education received a Grade 2 rating in the 2022 Comprehensive Integrity Evaluation of Public Institutions by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, ranking among the top in the 17 metropolitan and provincial offices of education nationwide.


It was also selected as an excellent institution for four consecutive years from 2019 to 2022 in the internal audit activity evaluation conducted by the Board of Audit and Inspection.
