Visiting Every Household to Check on Those in Need!
Jungnang-gu and Jungnang Post Office Sign Agreement for ‘Welfare Registered Mail Service’
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) is collaborating with Seoul Jungnang Post Office to identify hidden vulnerable households and strengthen the local community welfare safety net. On the 1st, the district signed an agreement with Seoul Jungnang Post Office for the ‘Welfare Registered Mail Service.’
At the signing ceremony, the district appointed 82 mail carriers from Seoul Jungnang Post Office as honorary social welfare officers of Jungnang-gu and provided them with job training.
The ‘Welfare Registered Mail Service’ is a project where mail carriers directly deliver registered mail containing welfare information to households in welfare blind spots, visit them 1-2 times to investigate living conditions and housing environment, and provide the information to the district office.
Accordingly, the district plans to send registered mail to households suspected of being in crisis due to power or water disconnection or overdue utility bills, where contact attempts via phone or visits have failed. Furthermore, welfare services will be linked based on information received from mail carriers, ensuring thorough follow-up management.
Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, “I thank Seoul Jungnang Post Office and the mail carriers for their efforts in signing this ‘Welfare Registered Mail Service’ agreement. I ask for your cooperation with a sense of mission to discover hidden vulnerable households in the community while performing mail delivery duties and to help eliminate welfare blind spots.”
