Hwasun-gun Successfully Hosts 'Professor Yu Hong-jun' Lecture at Citizen Happiness Academy

On the 26th, Hwasun County in Jeollanam-do announced on the 31st that it held a lecture titled "The Value and Status of Hwasun and Its Surrounding Cultural Heritage" by inviting Professor Yoo Hong-jun at the large conference room on the 4th floor of the Hwasun County Office.

This lecture was organized to provide an opportunity for residents to once again appreciate the value and importance of Hwasun's cultural heritage, and about 300 students and residents attended, filling the lecture hall.

In the lecture, Professor Yoo Hong-jun interestingly narrated stories related to the cultural heritage around Hwasun County, sparking interest in cultural assets among the attendees.

He also explained aesthetics by quoting the phrase "Geomibullu Hwibulchi (儉而不陋 華而不侈)," meaning "frugal but not shabby, splendid but not extravagant," and said, "I hope we reflect on the perspectives we should have living in this era, and apply what we have felt through cultural heritage and craftsmanship to our lives."

One of the attendees said, "Through Professor Yoo Hong-jun's lecture, I was able to broaden my insight into history and art, and I hope that various educational opportunities will continue to be provided by inviting expert lecturers in different fields."

Meanwhile, the Residents' Happiness Academy invites distinguished figures from various fields to hold lectures on the fourth Friday of every month. Next month, they plan to invite Han Moon-chul, a traffic accident specialist lawyer, to give a lecture titled "How to Avoid Causing or Suffering Traffic Accidents."
