Tada, May Golden Holiday Effect... Airport Traffic Up 35%

VCNC, the operator of the mobility platform Tada, announced on the 31st that airport travel volume increased by up to 35% during the month of May.

Tada explained that from May 1 to 7, during the golden holiday period including the Buddha’s Birthday and substitute holidays, taxi usage by travelers significantly increased.

According to Tada’s mobility data, trips to Gimpo Airport increased by about 35% during the golden holiday period from May 1 to 7. Conversely, trips departing from Gimpo Airport increased by about 30%. Trips to and from Incheon Airport, which is frequented by international travelers, rose by approximately 25% compared to usual.

The period with the highest increase in airport travel volume is during vacations and holidays. In fact, during last year’s summer vacation, the number of trips to the airport using Tada increased by 74% compared to the annual average. The number of trips departing from the airport increased by 76%. During the same period, the average daily number of calls with the airport as the destination was six times higher than those with the airport as the departure point. This means that for every call departing from the airport, six calls were made heading to the airport. This clearly shows the demand from users who want to arrive at the airport within a predetermined time considering their flight schedules.

Recently, Tada has been running a promotion offering a 10% discount on fares for users who reserve two or more Tada taxis at once through the call reservation service “Miri Bureugi” (Pre-call) during various holiday periods. Using the “Miri Bureugi” service allows worry-free travel even during early morning or late-night flights. A Tada representative said, “Tada is a premium taxi optimized for a comfortable interior space and pleasant driver service,” and added, “If you are planning airport travel, we recommend using Tada’s reservation service for a safe and comfortable journey.”
