LG Innotek announced on the 31st that it has developed a new flexible three-dimensional lighting product for vehicles called 'Nexslide-M.' The product is four times brighter than existing products and bright enough to be recognized even during the day, making it suitable for use as a 'Daytime Running Light (DRL).'

Nexslide is both a vehicle lighting component and a brand name of LG Innotek. It is made by attaching multiple light source packages onto a thin substrate. The new Nexslide-M applies a bendable resin material and can be installed in various vehicle lighting devices such as daytime running lights (DRL).

It is four times brighter than previous products, emitting light up to 500 candelas (cd, a unit of luminous intensity), which meets global DRL regulatory standards. This means it can reliably emit light even during the daytime.

To evenly distribute light, an air layer must be installed inside the lighting. However, the volume of the air layer makes it difficult to make the product thin and complicates achieving a premium design. Nexslide-M eliminates the air layer by applying a new manufacturing method, reducing the thickness to 8mm, about 30% of the existing product's 24mm thickness.

LG Innotek plans to accelerate its global vehicle lighting market dominance with Nexslide-M. It aims to realize a premium design suitable for luxury vehicle models. Nexslide-M can implement pixel lighting (a design that repeatedly arranges small three-dimensional lights) and RGB (color display using the three primary colors of light: red, green, and blue) methods. This indicates the product's high quality, making it applicable to various designs.
