Yeongdeok-gun Operates Promotional Booth at the 'Korea Marine and Fisheries Expo'

Participation in the '2023 Korea Marine and Fisheries Expo'

Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, will participate in the ‘2023 Korea Marine and Fisheries Expo’ held for three days from the 31st of this month to the 2nd of next month at the Gyeongju HICO Convention Center.

Hosted by Gyeongbuk Province and Gyeongju City, and organized by the East Sea Industrial Research Institute and EXCO, this event is held in connection with the ‘28th Sea Day’ on May 31 to discover new marine industries and foster excellent companies. Various events such as exhibitions, famous YouTubers’ mukbang, and red snow crab sharing events are prepared.


At this event, Yeongdeok-gun will operate a promotional booth together with 11 outstanding local companies including Sewoong Fisheries, Yeongdeok Agricultural and Fisheries English Cooperative Corporation, Obada Food, and The East Sea Road, promoting various products made from local marine products such as Yeongdeok snow crab, herring, seaweed, and squid, attracting the attention of consumers nationwide and domestic and international buyers.


In particular, a tasting event will be held to introduce ‘Haenyeo Seaweed Beer,’ developed by extracting the main components of seaweed, and ‘Herring Chips,’ a snack made using herring from Haedam, showcasing the excellence and marketability of local marine products to domestic and international consumers.


Jung Sang-ho, Director of the Marine and Fisheries Department, said, “We will actively work to revitalize the marine and fisheries industry so that Yeongdeok’s excellent marine products can be more loved by consumers by providing networking opportunities for companies,” and added, “We will do our best to establish Yeongdeok-gun as a representative region for marine products.”
