Gyeongsangnam-do and Namhae-gun signed an investment agreement (MOU) with Hotel Shilla and Haehoon on the 30th at the ‘Gyeongsangnam-do Investment Attraction Roadshow’ held in Busan to promote the ‘Namhae Changseon Tourism Accommodation Facility Development Project.’

The ‘Namhae Changseon Tourism Accommodation Facility Development Project,’ with a total project cost of 230 billion KRW, mainly involves constructing a hotel & condominium with 403 rooms and ancillary facilities such as a swimming pool on a 29,140㎡ site in Seodae-ri, Changseon-myeon by 2026.
The project will be implemented by the corporation ‘Haehoon,’ and hotel operations will be exclusively managed by Hotel Shilla, the top brand in the domestic hotel sector.
Since this large-scale accommodation facility is being attracted in line with the full-scale promotion of the ‘Namhae?Yeosu Undersea Tunnel’ construction, it is expected to greatly contribute to the revitalization of Namhae-gun’s tourism industry, which aims for the ‘10 million tourist era,’ as well as have a positive impact on future private investment attraction activities linked to this project.
In particular, Hotel Shilla, which will operate the hotel, manages and develops a total of 29 hotel properties worldwide, including The Shilla Hotel in Jangchung-dong, Seoul, and has 12 business locations in Southeast Asia, China, the United States, Germany, and Japan.
With a solid global network established, it is expected that hotel operations in Namhae-gun will greatly help attract not only domestic tourists but also foreign tourists.
Governor Jang Chung-nam said, “I am very pleased that Hotel Shilla, which boasts the highest authority in the domestic hotel sector, is being established in our county at the time when the Namhae?Yeosu Undersea Tunnel is being fully promoted,” adding, “It is expected to become a core infrastructure of the ecological tourism city visited by ten million people, and I will do my best to support the smooth progress of the project together with Governor Park Wan-su.”
The signing ceremony, held as a major event of the 2023 Gyeongsangnam-do Investment Attraction Roadshow, was attended by Governor Park Wan-su, Deputy Governor Ryu Hae-seok representing County Governor Jang Chung-nam, Hotel Shilla’s Kim Sang-hyun, Executive Vice President of Development, Haehoon’s CEO Seok Hoon, and other related officials.
