Haesung TPC is showing strong performance. It is interpreted to be influenced by the news that Samsung Electronics has filed an additional patent related to walking assist robots.
As of 1:05 PM on the 30th, Haesung TPC is trading at 7,080 KRW, up 7.11% compared to the previous day.
According to the industry, on the 19th, Samsung Electronics filed a patent titled "Walking Assist Device and Its Operation Method." This follows patents filed in February and March for "Wearable Device and Its Operation Method" and "Walking Assist Method and Devices Performing It," related to walking robots.
Walking assist robots are exercise assist devices that help seniors or people with mobility difficulties walk. Samsung Electronics first introduced the walking assist robot "EX1 (Gems Hip)" at CES 2019, the world's largest IT and electronics exhibition held in Las Vegas, USA, in 2019.
Subsequently, in April last year, Samsung completed the "Premarket Notification" for Gems Hip with the U.S. FDA (Food and Drug Administration). Premarket Notification is a procedure where sellers get certification from the U.S. government for the performance of medical devices.
It is known that Samsung internally decided the official name of EX1 (Gems Hip) as "BotFit." According to the information reported to the U.S. FDA, Samsung Electronics' BotFit is a device worn on the waist and thighs, weighing about 2.1 kg. It operates for 1 to 2 hours after a 2-hour charge. It is also reported that wearing it can increase walking force by about 24% and speed by 14%.
Meanwhile, Haesung TPC is known as the only company in Korea to have succeeded in mass-producing high-precision cycloidal reducers for robots. A reducer is a component used to reduce the rotational force of a motor through gears to control the movement of robots or machines.
