Former President Moon Jae-in, who personally serves as the 'bookstore keeper,' has welcomed over 40,000 visitors to Pyeongsan Bookstore in Yangsan, Gyeongnam, just one month after its opening.

On the 26th, Pyeongsan Bookstore posted an announcement on its website titled "It has been one month since the bookstore opened." In the post, the bookstore stated, "May 25 was the day marking one month since the bookstore opened," and reported, "During the one month period (April 26 to May 25), 22,691 books were sold, and 40,297 guests visited." They added a message of gratitude, saying, "We thank many people for visiting and showing affection."

The best-selling book at Pyeongsan Bookstore during the month was known to be former President Moon’s book review collection, People Who Read Books - Moon Jae-in’s Reading Notes.

Former President Moon opened Pyeongsan Bookstore in Pyeongsan Village, Jisan-ri, Habuk-myeon, Yangsan City, Gyeongnam Province, where his private residence is located, last month on the 26th using his own funds, intending to contribute to the Yangsan area where he plans to spend the rest of his life. The bookstore is operated by the 'Pyeongsan Bookstore Foundation' and an operating committee composed of village residents. Earlier, when opening the bookstore, former President Moon stated, "All profits will belong to the foundation, and if there is any surplus, it will be used for public projects such as initiatives for Pyeongsan Village, Jisan-ri, and Habuk-myeon residents, as well as book donations."

Pyeongsan Bookstore operates from Tuesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., excluding Mondays.

Meanwhile, after his retirement, former President Moon has been actively engaging in external activities, including the filming of the documentary This is Moon Jae-in, which was released on the 10th, the opening of Pyeongsan Bookstore, and recently launching a YouTube channel of the same name. The YouTube channel "Pyeongsan Bookstore" (@pyeongsanbooks), created on the 28th of last month, features the phrase "Pyeongsan Bookstore is always with you who dream of change through books" in its introduction. The channel posted a sketch video of the opening commemorative lecture "Meeting with Author Jeong Ji-a," held on the 27th of last month, on the 18th.

In addition to the YouTube channel, Pyeongsan Bookstore has been sharing news through its official website as well as official social media accounts on Instagram and Facebook.
