Revisit After Last Year's Polytech Yeori Forest Unveiling Ceremony and Ramen Festival
About 30 overseas fans of Hallyu star singer Hwang Chi-yeul visited Gumi again on the 28th, following their visit last summer.
Organized by Chi-yeol Sarang, Hwang Chi-yeul's fan cafe, this revisit included fans from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Canada, Malaysia, and China. After watching Hwang Chi-yeul's domestic concert, they visited Yeori Forest within Polytech University and the tile mural located in Sinpyeong-dong.
Notably, some of the overseas fans included in this visit participated in meal-serving volunteer work at Geumo Comprehensive Social Welfare Center alongside other volunteers to celebrate Hwang Chi-yeul's birthday at the end of last year, expressing their affection and interest in Gumi.
Since 2018, the city has been conducting extensive storytelling projects about Hallyu star Hwang Chi-yeul through private investment centered on fan cafes, linking these efforts to Hallyu tourism content. This has been recognized as an attractive tourist resource and is becoming established as a tour course for overseas tourists.
