Cho Kuk: "I Have Never Failed Anyone Else's Medical School Admission Because of My Daughter Cho Min"

Book Concert Held in Daegu

Former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk claimed that no other student was harmed because of his daughter, Cho Min.

On the afternoon of the 26th, at a book concert for his book "A Legal Classic Walk in an Advanced Country of Advances" held at EXCO in Buk-gu, Daegu, Cho Kuk was asked about the cancellation of his daughter Cho Min's admission to the Busan National University Medical School. He said, "An investigative committee was held within Busan National University, and to summarize the investigation results, the certificate of commendation from Dongyang University did not affect the admission, and it was concluded that no other student failed because of my daughter."

Regarding the first trial ruling that deemed the cancellation of admission by Busan National University as 'justified,' he said, "In the first trial ruling, the certificate of commendation itself was judged to be guilty, so just submitting the certificate was considered grounds for canceling admission to Busan National University Medical School. We have appealed." He also added, "As someone who taught law, I will naturally accept whatever ruling comes out."

About his daughter Cho Min's current situation, former Minister Cho expressed his sympathy, saying, "So far, she seems to be holding up well on the outside, but how upset she must be inside. Although she has resentment and anger in her heart, she seems to deliberately not show it to her father and family."

Regarding Cho Min's recent start on YouTube, he said, "When she was working as a doctor, she lived a hectic life, but now she is in the freest situation of her life and is doing a lot of things she likes."

On parenting methods, he gave a brief answer, saying, "I just help her live her own path in her own way."

Finally, former Minister Cho said, "I will be undergoing trials until the end of the year and the beginning of next year," and added, "I will endure well, thinking of the hearts of those who have come to see me."

Busan National University canceled Cho Min's admission last year in April based on the freshman recruitment guidelines stating that "admission will be canceled if false documents are submitted," after a ruling in the trial related to former professor Jung Kyung-shim found that the certificate of commendation from the president of Dongyang University, submitted during Cho Min's medical school application, was forged. Cho filed for a suspension of the execution of the admission cancellation and requested the cancellation of the admission cancellation itself through an administrative lawsuit, but the court dismissed it.
