At around 7 a.m. on the 27th, worker A (44) was crushed by plywood that fell during unloading work near a new officetel construction site in Chipyeong-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City.
As a result of the accident, A was transported to a nearby hospital but ultimately passed away.
It was investigated that A was crushed by plywood that fell from a forklift unloading construction materials while working with the forklift operator near the entrance of the construction site.
The police are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the accident, questioning the forklift operator and construction site officials.
Meanwhile, at this construction site, cement scattered on the road on the 12th and 17th, causing damage to dozens of vehicles parked there.
