Since last year, the IAEA has conducted two rounds each of safety verification and regulatory verification of the contaminated water at the Fukushima nuclear power plant. The Japanese government stated, "We will continue to provide the necessary information to the IAEA and strive to foster international understanding regarding the handling of the treated water."

Separately from the IAEA verification, the Korean inspection team visited the Fukushima nuclear power plant for on-site inspection from the 23rd to the 24th. After further reviewing and analyzing the materials received from Japan, the inspection team plans to announce a comprehensive evaluation.

The IAEA is expected to release the final report on the Fukushima contaminated water next month.
